Rotary Club of Derby – Santa Sleigh

Home / Umbrella Update / Rotary Club of Derby – Santa Sleigh

In December 2018 Santa and the Rotary Club of Derby volunteers visited homes in Chellaston, Littleover and Mickleover to raise funds for Umbrella. We were absolutely delighted and had great fun all the while amazed with the generous donations. Everyone loved meeting Santa.

Umbrella was absolutely thrilled when Steve Scott from the Rotary Club of Derby visited Umbrella in January to announce a total of £4,500 had been raised – what a difference this will make!   2019 was the year we had chosen to improve our kitchen, and although it is only January, thanks to the generosity of the Rotary Club of Derby and with a previous donation from the Rotary Club of Derby Mercia we have enough funds already – this means no waiting for the second sittings as our new kitchen will ensure we have enough cooking space to ensure everyone can eat at the same time – this will certainly help with independence and socialisation.

Huge thanks to all our wonderful Rotarian friends – the kitchen is now on order and will be fitted in March. Rotarians you have made such a huge difference to Umbrella and all the children, young people and young adults who we support. Thank you!
