Event Description

As a Parent/Carer its very rare we think about looking after ourselves, and how in turn that benefits our young people, so with this in mind we have joined forces with the lovely Angela from Hannah Fields Community Garden, to bring you this amazing 6 week wellbeing course.

Each session will be focused upon an area of wellbeing and how we can learn from and work with nature to support this area of wellbeing. Each session theme will be explored and include a grounding exercise and related nature craft activity. The pace of the session is gentle with the whole emphasis being on taking time out to focus upon nature and ourselves.

Session 1: An introduction into why and how we can learn from nature to improve our own wellbeing. Nature doesn’t debate whether it should be kind to itself, protect itself and take what it needs to thrive or adapt to a changing environment….it just does! We will use nature’s teachings as a guide through this course to improve our own wellbeing and support us to navigate our own ever-changing journey through life.

Session 2: Starting with self…… Through reflections and observations in nature we will explore themes of identity, purpose and needs…. what makes an Oak an Oak and what really makes us us! Nature knows instinctively what it needs and how to acquire it…..do we?

Session 3: Self Care, Nourishment and Nurturing……Nature will take what it needs to survive and thrive….what can we learn from nature to allow us to give ourselves the care we deserve and need.

Session 4: Looking for the positive and beauty in all. Nature provides us with so much beauty and things to be grateful for….Focusing on beauty within nature and positives within our lives can help these grow!

Session 5: Boundaries and protecting ourselves and our energy. Trees will drop their leaves in Autumn to preserve their energy and nourish the soil below them. How does nature protect itself and its boundaries? Do we hold onto things that we shouldn’t? How can we learn from nature to learn to look after ourselves and prioritise ourselves?

Session 6: Making Space, Connections and biodiversity.  Bare soil never stays bare for long. What do you want to fill your space with…. explore how we can truly be the artists of our landscape by filling our lives and minds with that which helps our wellbeing. What seeds do we want to sow and nurture for the future.

Every Thursday, 10am – 11.30am, for 6 weeks, starting on 16th April 2026.
