Empowering Disabled Children, Young Adults And Their Families

Adult Services

Umbrella’s Adult Services provide personalised support for disabled adults aged 18 up to their 31st birthday. We offer a range of opportunities designed to promote independence, develop life skills, improve health and wellbeing, encourage social connections, and most importantly, have fun.

You can access Umbrella’s Adult Services by using your Personal Budget, through self-funding or through the Day Opportunities Framework.

Who can access our Adult Services?

The Services We Offer

In addition our adults’ service is able to:

  • Deliver activities that explicitly focus on Developing Independent Living Skills
Activities focus on building the practical skills needed for independent or supported living, including meal planning and preparation, shopping, budgeting, household tasks, and personal care.
  • Supported Access to Specialist Interests
We provide supported access to specialist interests and opportunities, such as courses, workshops, and other activities that help individuals explore their passions and develop new skills.
  • Assistance With Finding Volunteering Opportunities
Supporting individuals to find and access volunteering opportunities through partnerships with external organisations and community groups, as well as smaller enterprise projects developed by Umbrella, including our allotment.
  • Recognising and Celebrating Achievements
We support individuals to recognise and celebrate their achievements, whether that’s reaching personal goals, developing new skills, or contributing to their community. We also host events such as the Daniel Richardson Awards, celebrating the accomplishments, progress and successes of the people we support.

How to Access

Families can contact our Family Support team directly, or professionals can refer on their behalf through our Single Point of Access.

Once we have received contact (phone, email, social media, or referral form), we aim to respond as quickly as possible.
