Family Support
Our Family Support team is often the first point of contact for families reaching out to Umbrella. We offer a warm, parent-led service designed to empower families through information, advice, and emotional support. Whether you’re seeking guidance, connection, or practical help, our team is here to walk alongside you.
Who Can Access Our Family Support Services?
The Family Support service is open to:
- Families living in Derby City or Derbyshire.
- Parents/carers of children or young people with disabilities or additional needs. No Diagnosis needed.
- Those seeking advice, emotional support, or connection with other families.
- Professionals or community members looking to refer families to Umbrella’s services.
What our Family Support team does
- The Family Support team runs Umbrella’s Single Point of Access, which means they are the first contact for anyone wishing to use our services.
- The team assesses each referral and identifies which Umbrella services (e.g., Early Intervention, Activities, Carer Support) will best meet the family’s needs.
- We ensure every family receives a personalised, parent-led experience focused on empowerment and wellbeing.
- Regular information will be sent out to update on what activities and events are available.
- Once we have an understanding of your family’s needs, we will then sign post or refer onto the services needed.
How We Can Support You
